In Spring

Spring showers and the smell of rain stir up so many memories. As a child, I never worried about getting wet or muddying my clothes. I just would look up in wonderment as water fell from the sky above, hearing the pitter patter on my umbrella, allowing cool droplets to hit my face, and of course, the thrill of the jumping into the pools of water provided for my entertainment.

I can still see the eyes of my youngest on his first day of Kindergarten. It was raining and he was looking up to the sky, not with anxiety or disappointment, but with pure joy that the little droplets of water falling from the sky provided. Such wonderment. Such appreciation for all that Mother Earth gives.
